Experience that Matters
Rick started his legal career in a small law firm practicing civil litigation and helping people and businesses resolve disputes large and small. Seeing the frustration -- and costs -- associated with litigation led Rick to focus on helping his clients avoid disputes, and resolving them quickly and fairly when they did arise.
As his client base expanded, so did Rick's areas of expertise. He moved to a larger law firm where he focused on helping clients develop and lease real estate, understand and comply with complex regulatory issues and interact with local, state and federal government agencies. During this period, he continued to advise clients on litigation strategy, employment law and general corporate matters. As Rick's practice grew, so did many of his clients. Eventually, he accepted a position as General Counsel for one of his clients, a large, privately held healthcare company, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's legal affairs.
Rick founded LauerLaw in 2018 after guiding his former employer to a successful sale to a large, publicly-traded competitor. Now, Rick brings his wealth of real-world, practical experience to each of his clients. He serves as "outside" General Counsel for numerous businesses helping them navigate issues as simple as setting up new entities or leasing new space, and as complex as managing nationwide tort litigation or complying with federal healthcare regulations. He advises clients with acquisitions and helps them implement growth strategies. As a small business owner himself, Rick understands that good, practical advice often makes the difference between success and failure, and he seeks to deliver that kind of advice to each of his clients.
